Sea Battle
This Sea Battle is the classic pen and paper game, now with a cannon and fire on screen. Each side has a 9 by 7 sea and five ships: a 2-square speedboat, a submarine and a frigate of 3, a battleship of 4 and an aircraft carrier of 5. Ships are allowed to touch.
Play the bot on three levels or a friend on the same device, passing the screen while you place your fleet. Hit a ship and you fire again; miss and the turn passes. Every hit is worth 1 point and every sunk ship 1 more.

How to play
- Place your ships without showing your opponent and take turns guessing your opponent's ship locations
On the keyboardPlacement: 1 to 5 (or Tab) pick a ship, arrow keys move it, Space or R rotates, Backspace returns it to the tray, S places at random and Enter saves. Battle: arrow keys aim and Enter or Space fires.
Tips to play better
- 1Found a ship? Fire at the neighboring squares until you know if it lies across or up and down, then keep going along that line until it sinks.
- 2Ships can touch, so do not rule out the squares next to a sunk ship: another one may be sitting right against it.
- 3When placing, mix horizontal and vertical ships. Tap a placed ship to rotate it, and use Random when you want a quick start.
- 4The smallest ship has only 2 squares. When it is the last one left, look in the gaps between your misses where 2 squares in a row still fit.
Frequently asked questions
How does the bot play on each difficulty?
Its first shot is always random. On Easy it fires loosely around the sea; on Medium and Hard it follows the direction of its last hit, and on Hard it finds ships more often, especially when you are ahead on points.
Can I play with a friend?
Yes. Pick Friend: Red places the fleet with the screen hidden, hands over the device, Blue places, and the battle always starts with Red.
