About the game
Sound Memory
Sound Memory is the classic follow-the-sequence game. The colored buttons light up and each one plays its own note, you repeat them in the same order, and every round you get right adds a new step at the end. Your score is the length of the last sequence you completed.
The notes make an A major chord, so you can remember the pattern by ear. Easy has 3 buttons, Medium has 4, and on Hard some steps light two buttons at once. Made a mistake? You can earn an extra life and hear the same sequence again.
How to play
- Classic memory game! See how long you can repeat the sequence of button presses as it grows.
On the keyboard1 to 4 play the buttons in order (1 blue, 2 green, 3 yellow, 4 red); Q, W, A and S are the four quadrants. On Easy: 1, 2 and 3 or the left, right and down arrow keys. Double step: press both keys within half a second.
Tips to play better
- 1Hum the sequence in your head: each color has its own note, from low to high, and a melody sticks better than a list of colors.
- 2After the fourth step the playback speeds up a little every round. Start answering as soon as the last button lights, no need to wait for it to go dark.
- 3Split the sequence into chunks of three or four steps. Only the final step is new; you already played the rest in the previous round.
- 4On Hard, a double step wants both buttons together: the second one must come within half a second, and letting go of the first before the second counts as a miss.

Frequently asked questions
How does the double step on Hard work?
On about 40% of the steps two buttons light up together. Tap both with two fingers at the same time; with a keyboard or mouse, press one and then the other within half a second.
What happens when I make a mistake?
The buttons flash and the game over tone plays. If you already scored, Save Me gives you an extra life and replays the same sequence from the start.
